Nearby Attractions, places to go and things to do...

Edinburgh
Scotlands Capitol is just a 30-minute car or train ride away with everything it has to offer it's to much to list here. See the visit Scotland link to get all the best up to date information about what's going on in Edinburgh.
Glasgow
Jewel of the west
This vibrant city, once the European city of culture has it all going on, from bustling markets, bars and cafe's to Museums and parks.  The Science museum is a great family day out.
Falkirk Wheel

The Forth & Clyde and Union Canals were linked by a staircase of 11 locks which took nearly a day to transit. These were dismantled in 1933.
The concept of a wheel as a boat lift was first considered as a solution for Falkirk. Other ideas included rolling eggs, tilting tanks, a giant see-saw and overhead monorails!
The final design is claimed to have been inspired by a
Celtic
double headed spear, a vast turning propeller of a Clydebank built ship, the ribcage of a whale and the spine of a fish.

Whisky in a glass
Whisky
Whisky is the closest thing to Scotland in a glass. It has been produced here longer than anyone can remember and to this day it remains the country’s most famous export.
Thankfully, there are more than enough whisky tours in Scotland.
Golf
In Scotland there are over 550 golf courses to choose from - that's more courses per head of population than anywhere else in the world! The range and breadth of Scottish golf courses means that whatever your level and course preference, you'll never be far from fairways and greens
suited to you.

The Kelpies

Come and see the world's largest equine sculptures up close - and even go inside to marvel at the complexity and the engineering which created these fantastic pieces of art.

Chosen by Scottish Canals at the inception of the project, The Kelpies name reflected the mythological transforming beasts possessing the strength and endurance of 100 horses; a quality that is analogous with the transformational change of our landscapes, endurance of our inland waterways and the strength of our communities.

Shopping
A little retail therapy never hurt anyone.  Whilst there are numerous shopping malls across Scotland the closest and largest in the immediate area is the  "Livingston Designer Outlet"
Not just shopping though, it's a full on day out with Dining, a Cinema, Indoor mini golf and other things to do, all under the roof of this popular destination.
